Donate to Fredericksburg Food & Wine

Fredericksburg Food & Wine is a charitable program of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Events Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 99-4096360). Our mission is to support the people who grow, make and serve the food and wine of the Texas Hill Country. The festival began in 1991 as a community fundraiser for improvements to Fredericksburg’s Market Square, and giving back is still the reason it exists. Today, donations and a portion of festival proceeds after event costs fund two community programs: culinary education for Fredericksburg High School students and emergency relief for hospitality workers in Gillespie County.

The Fredericksburg High School Culinary Program Fund supports the culinary education of more than 200 Fredericksburg High School students across all four grades. Donations help pay for equipment and educational experiences that prepare students for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. In the past year, the fund has provided more than $20,000 in supplies and equipment for the program.

What your gift can do: buy an induction burner a student uses to learn to cook eggs for a breakfast buffet, or pay for the class to visit a food production facility.

The Hospitality Worker Emergency Fund, created by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Events Foundation in partnership with the Southern Smoke Foundation, provides emergency financial assistance to hospitality workers in Gillespie County. Grants help workers through accidents, illness or injury, housing crises, a sudden change in circumstances, natural disasters, and being the victim of a crime or violence.

Who can apply: restaurant servers, bartenders, cooks, winery workers and others in food and beverage jobs. Applicants must work in the food and beverage industry at least 30 hours a week and have done so for at least six months, and the crisis must have happened within the six months before they apply. Workers can receive help once every 12 months and up to twice in a four-year period.
How to apply: applications are handled by the Southern Smoke Foundation. Questions about eligibility can go to Case Management.
