Festival Weekend 2026: October 22 to 25
Festival Weekend runs Thursday October 22 through Sunday October 25 in historic downtown Fredericksburg, across four ticketed events: Opening Night, the Friday Street Dinner, Saturday’s Grand Tasting and Sunday Brunch.
More than 35 wineries pouring
The 2026 Grand Tasting brings more than 35 wineries to Marktplatz, part of the 75-plus culinary and beverage partners across the weekend. Among those pouring this year: Grape Creek Vineyards, Heath Sparkling Wines, Becker Vineyards, Augusta Vin, William Chris Vineyards, Signor Vineyards, Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa, Adega Vinho and Whatley Wines.
Most of them are located in the Texas Hill Country AVA, known for its limestone and granite soils, hot days and cool nights, and elevations between 1,300 and 2,000 feet suit Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc as well as familiar Cabernet clones and Merlot, poured by the winemakers who made them. Many of these wineries keep tasting rooms along the US-290 corridor, where more than 50 sit within a short drive of Marktplatz on Main Street.
Chefs, pitmasters and Fredericksburg restaurants
James Beard Award-winning chef Jesse Griffiths of Dai Due in Austin headlines with a live demonstration of his rotisserie wild boar. Pitmaster Lance Eaker of Eaker Barbecue joins 20+ chefs, restaurants and artisans, including Fredericksburg’s own Cabernet Grill, Otto’s German Bistro and Hill & Vine. An artisan marketplace hosted by The Meuse runs all weekend, with live performances presented by Crossroads Saloon.
